GENETICS
2100 after Jesus Christ.

The earth is dying, already about one hundred kind of living creatures disappeared.

We are in Europe, which separated into four different lands;
- In The North, in cold reign the people of Scetaceas, people of human kind always feasting..
- To the South the big Desert of Death reduces the populations of living beings and human beings in three places, the Source of Life, where they still find some water, Yiekna, the city-fortress and Itchi, a place where living beings and men are at the same time barbarians, sly and wild. This is a place where all people selfishly and hardly live. Life is hard and cruelly there for weak-willed people, old people and children.
- In the East, we can find a vast jungle and a marsh, these places are dangerous, hostile and deserted by the men.
- Finally, on the North-West is located an huge chain of mountain, half devastated, where we find men who breed air creatures.

The world... has changed so much...

However, in these cities, all usages and all laws are almost the same:

To live, human kind has to live with an genetically modified animal who would follow them all their life.
These animals are named the Totems. They are the ones who choose their master with which they will belong to. It is them who protect their master and care for them, as their master(the Souls), would also care of them. The Totem animals are provided of a big intelligence and the donation of speaking like the humans.
But, avoid most problems, all Totems are forced to have a master to live, and the Totems who don’t want to chose a master, or who are wild haven’t the right to breath as if the master die and the Totem don’t want a new one will be killed.
It's unfair, but all countries are being aimed by cruel men or dictators so nobody can say anything about their decisions.

The story begins with Toddy, but also the story of Keydo, (a totem whom lost his master while they fought beside the rebels) Collin, (a young boy who will take it for a Totem) and the class of Yiekna (who will join the rebels). Three stories that will join themselves during the story.
